CDL receives major grant in support of Camp Evans
The Computer Deconstruction Laboratory (CDL), the Makerspace at the InfoAge Science and History Museums at the Camp Evans National Historic Landmark, has received a $88677.84 grant from the Amateur Radio Digital Communications Foundation (ARDC) in support of educational activities at Camp Evans.
The focus of the grant is two-fold:
The primary focus is improving network connectivity on the Diana Site to facilitate remote use of the TLM-18 antenna system, along with other scientific instrumentation by students and researchers.
Additional funding was provided to improve accessibility and physical security for Building 9162, the TLM-18 Control Building.
InfoAge, as the lessee for the Camp Evans Property will act as the financial control and contract for the network improvements and other work.

About ARDC
Amateur Radio Digital Communications (ARDC) is a California-based foundation with roots in amateur radio and the technology of internet communication. The organization got its start by managing allocations of the AMPRnet address space, which is designated to licensed amateur radio operators worldwide.
Additionally, ARDC makes grants to projects and organizations that follow amateur radio’s practice and tradition of technical experimentation in both amateur radio and digital communication science. Such experimentation has led to broad advances for the benefit of the general public – such as the mobile phone and wireless internet technology. ARDC envisions a world where all such technology is available through open source hardware and software, and where anyone has the ability to innovate upon it.
